Below are three different businesses that I have worked with recently - each varying in size and complexity.
All three wanted more scalable businesses with stronger financial outcomes, but their potential was obscured. There was opportunity for magic, but it needed a skilled expert to help.
My role was to identify and unlock these opportunities, delivering tangible value to their bottom line. 01 - Case Study | downward drifting
This client owned a software company that by my estimation was 2-3 months away from liquidation. The prior CFO had left, and I was called in to turn things around. Once I realized how serious and deep the problems were, my estimation was there was only about 50% chance the business was salvageable. However, after much hard work from everyone, the business is now back operating profitably, and a strategic sale is now on the cards. The graph below tells the story.
Results in 5 Months:
Profit: From -$75k to +$125k
Cash: Up $350k
Debt: Down $650k
02 - CASE STUDY | I NEED TO GET OUT
This client wanted to sell, and of course at a good purchase price. However, he had limited reporting and didn't realize the company was in serious decline. I stepped in as CEO, led the turnaround, and restored the business to a position of value and stability. After 9 months I then hired a new GM, handed over the reigns, and sold the business for a value he was happy with.
Results in 9 Months:
Profit: Doubled
Cash: 4x $315k
Valuation: Tripled
03 - CASE STUDY | IM MAKING MONEY SO WHERES MY CASH?
This client was a wholesaler that was experiencing strong revenue growth, yet no matter how much the business grew the bank account didn't. In this instance I didn't touch the revenue driving machine, as this was working well. I used other financial levers to unlock cash, and ultimately bolster the bank account.
Results in 4 months:
Revenue: Up 15%
Cash: Up $350k!
